Dr. Cynthia Brown, the daughter of a Mobile, Alabama obstetrician and gynecologist, chose her own career because it offered the opportunity to care for women of all ages with a broad range of health needs.
While in residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Brown realized the satisfaction of being able to offer her patients access to the highest quality healthcare. Through her practice at Sparks & Favor and Brookwood Women’s Medical Center, she continues to care for women with this confidence. She truly enjoys coming to know women from all walks of life, supporting their wellness efforts, and sharing their health challenges. Dr. Brown is also interested in advanced practice areas in both obstetrics and gynecology. She enjoys the challenges faced in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies. Her patients benefit from newer technologies that shorten or avoid hospital stays including the da Vinci® “robotic” surgical approach and other minimally-invasive procedures.
Dr. Brown’s career honors include nomination to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and recognition by her colleagues as one of Birmingham’s Best Doctors in America® continuously since 2006. Her patients have chosen her to receive Alabama Baby and Child Magazine and AL.com’s annual Parents’ Choice honors many times. She serves the Birmingham community through her work at the Firehouse Shelter and the Center for Concern. She is thrilled to be leading a medical team to implement a comprehensive women’s care strategy in the critically under-served community of Petit Goave, Haiti.
Dr. Brown and her family enjoy everything outdoors.
