Office Policies

Office Hours

The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.


Emergency and After Hours Care

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

If you believe you are in labor or for other emergent OB/GYN matters you may call our answering service at 205-397-1286 or 205-930-4038.  Please give the operator the reason for your call and a pharmacy phone number.  The operator will contact our physician on call, who will return your call.    If you have a non-urgent GYN issue, you may send a message through the portal or call to leave a message for a nurse during business hours.

We do not share call with physicians outside of our group.


Your Annual Exam

A yearly exam without a co-pay does not apply to visits addressing problems or complaints (such as abnormal bleeding, menopausal symptoms, breast pain, etc.). For our patients’ convenience, our physicians may be willing to address any concern or problem you may have at the same time as your yearly exam if their schedule allows. Please be aware, however, that an office visit will be submitted to your insurance company, and a co-payment will likely be required. Your physician may also recommend you return to address problems at a separate visit.


Prescriptions

If you need to have a prescription refilled, please call the office and leave a message on the prescription line Monday -Thursday 8AM to 4:30 PM or Friday 8AM-11AM.  If it is outside of these hours, you leave a message and your call will be addressed in the next 1-2 business days.  Be sure to call several days in advance and have the medication name, telephone number, and address of your pharmacy available. You can also request prescription refills online at least a week in advance through our Patient Portal.


Disability and family leave forms

There will be a $20 charge for completing all DISABILITY and FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE FORMS. Payment is expected at the time the forms are received here in our office. Please notify us of how long you plan to take off work. Allow at least seven business days for completion of the forms.


Missed Appointment Policy

There will be a $25 fee charged for patients who fail to arrive for a scheduled appointment, effective June 1st, 2023. Notify our office at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Notification allows the practice to better utilize appointments for other patients in need of prompt medical care.
